Lake Ontario, NY Fishing Report

20lbs KING SALMON

After Deaf Bass Fishing Tournament, my partner asked me to teach him how to fish for salmon since he bought bunch of trolling stuffs for salmon/trouts in Lake Ontario. I told him that I can teach some ropes for him.

So, after the tournament, we went straight to Lake Ontario. We was at boat lunch at 330pm. I already found bunch of baitfish on fishfinder. So, I set up trolling things, (downriggers with spoons, wires with dipsy/doctor/hair rig, coppers with spoons.) My partner was shocked how they was function at that way. He thought that it was already hooked up a fish. But it wasn't. He said, "how we can find the salmon since I am good with trouts. So, I really want to catch salmon only." So, I went with my set up that I set up for him. surely enough, three rods was bending already. All three rods was landed with nice size King salmon. My partner was shocked and impressive how I handled boat and landed all three fish between us. He is fully hooked with salmon now. Because his eye kept glued on each rods.

At 8pm, we already have 35 kings, 11 steelheads, and 4 cohos. I caught 20lbs king salmon for big fish of the day. will post pictures when I can.
