Epic Fishing On My Birthday!!!

It seem like my fish god answered my prayer!!!

Caught over 150 fish! All of them on drop shot with 2 inch grub. Two hooks. Caught almost whole species in the lake! Sunfish, crappie, white perch, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, eel, pikerel, and largemouth bass!

Before I can begin my story! Remember, I loved to use my trout set up that has 4 pound line. That is what I am using. I was originally fish for yellow perch. Anyway, I had double fish on almost every drift! but tend to losing them on nearby canoe when I'm trying to pull them out of water. Most common fish that I tend to catch is bass/perch. Rest of them is small number but still large number for most fisherman tend to catch them. Lost count for bass and perch. But Kept score for 11 bullhead catfish, 16 white perch, 33 sunfish, 8 crappies, and 3 pikerels, 1 giant eel!

Most surprising catch was bullhead catfish! I had two monster bullhead catfish on both hook! I grabbed first one on top of line. Last catfish broke the line and swam free! That catfish was 1 1/2 size bigger than that one I grabbed! However, that catfish weight exactly 2 pounds! Pinfish size! It is 15 1/2 inch long! wondering what that bigger catfish weight... oh well...

Now for most shocking part, I caught 1.15 pound yellow perch! 14 1/2 inch long! But that wasn't big headline! That fish was on my top hook. Guess what it is on my bottom hook??!!!! Bingo! Giant EEL! I'm wish I was kidding! I grabbed yellow perch! Huge mistake! Line snapped instantly when I grabbed yellow perch! that damn eel swim like snake back into bottom! It was around 7-8 feet long! 6-8 inch girth! But I wish I had net on my canoe! I'll definitely landed it for sure!! I cannot really complain because I had 4 pound line. I was asking for that much to break line. I was shocked for several minutes to get my mind kicked in that I was losing giant eel! (that is probably same eel that I caught 8-10 years ago. It was 6 feet long! but who knows) However, now, I have two pinfish!! whooo!!!

Less important that need to mention on here, I caught 12 ounces sunfish! on my last drift! 10 inch long with 9 1/2 girth! Wicked fat fish for this size! Whoo!! Three pinfish in less three hours! But that wasn't story! I fished in down pour rain! That's make my story better!!! I had to stop fishing because there was lighting around. I'll definitely go back there again sometimes soon!! Glad that I found this spot!

Top of all, it is on my birthday! Fish God certainly did give his presents for me today! Bunch thanks for that!

  • cpl mc - sorry, I forget to post it! here you go.

thorn168 - Yes, I'm strictly catch and release fisherman but not for salmon or trouts! Never kept more fish than I can eat. (I don't meant to brag but I tend to catch over 10k fish every year.) so, that is showing how good fisherman I am. Just wait until I start my saltwater season soon!

bassinbroosky - Yeah, Thanks! I tend to be exaggerate little bit. but not on the fish. Only story itself. haha. But I mean who doesn't do that! At least, I have my photos to prove my story! I will never lies about my fish catches. I don't see any point to lie because I am fishing machine like as you said, look at my photos that said all. LOL

lipixiblue - Awesome, man! I wish I could afford to go Florida! Must be blast to be fishing down there! Definitely sweet birthday for you.

  • There couldn't be a better birthday gift!
I spent mine last year on a 3 week fishing BENDER down in FL. Refused Disney to go fishing and all. Lol

  • Happy Birthday! Any pictures?

  • Kman - Me too! I kinda knew they grew that big because when I was around 10-12 years old, I saw old man caught like 8-10 foot eel in Oldham at that barbershop. That small creek connected to both furnace and oldham. I saw that old man pulled it and kept for dinner. He said it was super delicious. I was shocked. After that, I caught one at one summer. Idk when but I must be between 13-15 years old.
